Thanks for sharing your pain. My son is 16. Not heading to college unless God performs a miracle. Right now I’m praying that he’ll try to finish his abbreviated algebra exam with all the accommodations his IEP gives him.

Thank you for sharing Big Daddy. I just found your blog and this was one of the first posts I read. I kind of understand the feeling as my 13 year old son is severely autistic and from time to time it hurts abit when parents to normal children tells about the childrens progress. Not that I envy them, it just feels like something is missing, a small hole in the chest.

Band-aide….
I wish you had ripped off the bandaid.. aka. I won’t be writing anymore.
Instead, each day, I peek, I check.. sometimes, more then once… and you’re not here. This is the slow, hair pulling, tedious way to get the band aide.

Nurse Michael Garritson found guilty Monday, April 22, of willful cruelty against a severely autistic patient in his care. A disgrace to all the caring, loving nurses out there. Just horrific. Hope this sends a message that if you abuse an autistic person you will be punished. What kind of nurse does this to his patient?????? Especially a severely autistic young man that can’t talk and defend himself.
